Uninstalling Logitech G Hub software I initially used it to re-program my Logitech mouse, but it’s causing my Mac to run hot with unchecked processes that are consuming a lot of CPU for some reason. I found this Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/drbl7y/how_do_i_uninstall_logitech_g_hub/ which led to this website: https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023192454-G-HUB-Install-Uninstall-Update-Troubleshooting Loosely followed the instructions for Mac, except that the directories are “Logi” instead of “LGHUB”. Windows Option 1 is to try to reinstall from a fresh installer. If you already have it installed and try to install again, the installer will ask to reinstall. ...

Creating GIFs using Photoshop https://www.carolinahannaeducation.com/how-to-make-a-gif-using-lightroom-and-photoshop/ The hardest part about creating a GIF was getting the file size down to 1 MB. Some messaging apps (like Google Voice) seem to have file size limits since I wasn’t able to send a full size GIF (22 MB! I know; too big). I tried looking for a web page that has the limits, but only found forums discussing it. It’s likely around 1 MB. I was able to send a GIF that was slightly larger than 1 MB, but was not able to send one that was 2 MB. ...

Skin Retouching In Lightroom Classic (Mitch Lally) https://youtu.be/DPMeZcw4_R0 Photo stats: Sony A7 IV, 1/640 sec, f/1.4, ISO 100, 35 mm Sigma Art prime Initially, the photo he worked on was already close to done without any adjustment. He adjusted exposure and white balance slightly before working on blemishes. To “soften” the face, Mitch created a mask using the AI-detected face mask that seems to pop up automatically in the masking panel. Modified the initial mask by subtracting anything spilling into the eyes and eyelashes. Subtracted eyebrows and shadow/edges around the base of the nose and nostrils. ...

Orchestrating HPC with AWS Step Functions and AWS Batch https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/compute/orchestrating-high-performance-computing-with-aws-step-functions-and-aws-batch/ This post gives an example of a workflow that involves AWS Step Functions, Batch, and Lambda Functions. This post seems to break up a workflow into multiple state machines. Iterative polling patterns are often used when multiple jobs need to complete before executing the next step in an analysis. Step Functions has some synchronization primitives that integrate with other AWS services. Run a Job (.sync) will return a single success or failure message after a job completes, reducing the number of messages in the event log.

Resume red flag https://www.cnbc.com/2022/04/22/microsofts-head-of-recruiting-on-the-nopoint1-resume-red-flag-to-avoid.html Lauren Gardner, Microsoft Recruiter The average employer spends 6 seconds looking at a resume. One way to grab attention is to demonstrate your willingness to learn and take professional risks. “We’re looking for folks that are motivated to constantly learn and grow,” she says. “We’re not looking for know-it-alls, we’re looking for learn-it-alls”. Even if you’ve had the same job title for awhile, you should volunteer for different projects or work in different teams. It can also be helpful to use keywords like “growth” or “learning” to describe work experiences. ...
